Monobook vs. Oasis: How to make editing easierEdit

You can choose to see the wiki in one of two layouts. Monobook is the more 'wikipedian' one. It has some advantages on the default one. It has less ads, more space and looks more familiar to those who are used to wikipedia. However, Oasis has an advantage over Monobook: It comes with a Rich-Text Editor that makes page creation and edition much easier.

Edit

Both Oasis and Monobook offer the possibility of editing the source code. This tutorial will explain how to use both the Rich-Text Editor and the Source Code Editor (8).

Starting a New PageEdit

There are x ways of starting a new page:

  1. In the Oasis layout, in the main page, click on 'Add a Page' next to the 'Like' button.
  1. In the Oasis layout, when reading another page, click on 'Add a Page' under the Search Box
  1. In all layouts, type what will be the url of the new page, like this:
http://fetishfuel.wikia.com/wiki/Title_of_the_New_Page

Then click 'create'.

Important: When naming a Page, the first letter of each word of the title should be capitalized. For example, it'd be Panty And Stocking With Garterbelt, not panty and stocking with garterbelt or Panty and stocking with garterbelt. The exception are words like 'the' or 'of'. The mods will rename any pages that don't follow this rule and leave a redirect behind. Please save the mods the work. They will be eternally grateful.

Adding PicturesEdit

To add a picture using the Rich-Text Editor, you can either modify the Placeholder image or click on (6).

With the Source Code Editor, it's a little more complicated. First go to Special:Upload. Upload your picture, then insert this code to the very beginning of the page:

Sometimes this code doesn't work. If that's the case, write the url of the image after 'File:'.

Adding Sections and Tables of ContentEdit

Pictures should contain no nudity. Thumbnails shouldn't be more than 300px wide. Otherwise the image will take too much space. To make a new section in the Rich-Text Editor, first write the name of the section down. Select it and then go to (1). Once there, click on Heading 2.

To do the same in the Source Code Editor, use this code:

==Title of the Section==

That will get you:

Title of the SectionEdit

Tables of Content appear automatically when more than three sections are added to an article. The basic list of categories for Kinky Tropes is:

Anime and Manga
Comic Books
Fanworks
Film
Live Action TV
Music
Theatre
Video Games
Web Original
Western Animation
Real Life
Troper Tales
LinksEdit

Whenever possible, try to link to the wiki instead of to TVT, specially when it comes to Kinky Tropes. To add a link using the Rich-Text Editor, click on (4) and follow the instructions. Remember to specify if you're linking to the wiki itself or to an outside page. If you're linking to the wiki, you'll only have to write the title of the page instead of the whole url. To delete the link while keeping the text click on (5).

The code to add a link to a page in the wiki is:

Text in the link

Gives: Text in the link

For example, typing:

Cinema Snob's voice

Gets you: Cinema Snob's voice

To link outside of the wiki, type:

[www.url.com Text in the link]

Bullet and Number buttonsEdit

Bullet buttons are used to list examples. Number buttons are currently being used in the List of Fetishes and the Wishlist. They're the buttons (2) and (3) in the Rich-Text Editor. In the Source Code Editor, this:

*This is text
            **This is a reply
            #This is a list
            ##This goes under it

Gets you this:

  • This is text
    • This is a reply
  1. This is a list
    1. This goes under it

Dialogue and QuotesEdit

From the Rich-Text Editor, click on (7) Template>Other template / magic word. Type either Dialogue or Quote in the box and click insert. Then follow the instructions.T If you're using the Quote template, write in the second and third box who said the quote and where/when they said it.

The code to add dialogue is:

  • |attr= enter attribution here.
  • |url= if the source is a website, enter yes here.
  • |src= enter source here; if the source is a website, enter the url here and add yes to the |url= parameter.

If you want to link to the wiki, writing:

Gets you:

Xander: "I happen to be very biteable, pal. I'm moist and delicious."
Spike: "All right, yeah, fine. You're a nummy treat."
Xander: "And don't you forget it."
―Hush, Buffy the Vampire Slayer
[src]

The code to add a quote is:

Text on the quote goes here
Text on the quote goes here

–This is who said it, This is where they said it

Spoilers, Citing Sources and HottipsEdit

You can only do this through the Source Code Editor (8).
