While sure, I can see that Girl on Girl is hot, it just isn't my fetish. I have two friends who happen to be of the lesbian variety who were making out next to me. Well I certainly wasn't looking at them. I was looking at the guys recording it against their knowledge. My Berserk Button was pressed so after lunch, their leader and I had a "civil chat" in the bathroom. They haven't recorded (or been near the two) at all since. Once I told the two girls they were really happy I stood up for them. Sadly, through an off-hand comment saying that I see them as my sisters (one of them is bi and I had a crush on her. (Yeah, she denied me for a girl, ha ha.)) they taunted me saying, "Too bad you wont commit incest, we'd have invited you." My right eye twiched ever so much...
This somewhat-bi male troper (he only likes Bishounen) is turned on by girl on girl. He's never seen his bi female friend make out with another female, but he wishes he could. His other female friend (whom he has a major crush on) has done some strange things, like grab other female's breasts. Every time this happens, he blushes uncontrollably. It doesn't help that he's prone to writing fanfiction, because there is now a lesbian fanfic (featuring both previously mentioned females) saved onto his computer. He just hopes they never look atthe file labeled "Yuri Whoot"... *
This troper used to be incredibly into lesbian action, but it doesn't really do it for me anymore. Most likely because of the large number of lesbians and bi girls (and guys and gays but that's another story) that I am friends with and have... seen taking part in said acts (not usually on purpose), and some of them are fucking hot, some are meh, and some are bleh, but I think it's largely because I cant be a part of a lesbian encounter. I mean I can't even get into lesbian porn nowadays.... but I hate seeing the guy in straight porn for the most part which makes porn a little difficult for me. But there is one exception — I would make to seeing a girl with another girl, and she is a lesbian but I'm out of luck with the watching part.
Not necessarily. Depends on whether both girls are hot. And where lesbians are concerned; it seems to me two hot girls are rare.
This troper thinks the comment above him is so true.
Though my father hasn't outright condemned homosexuality, he taunts it whenever he has the chance. Guess what I found while I was typing in a website's address in the search bar on top? You guessed it, lesbian porn.
Unless he's one of those types who thinks gay guy = evil while gay girl = hot.
This Troper had Home Ec in high school, where he once witnessed a girl with a soup ladle playfully spanking another girl in a sexy apron. Best. Class. Ever.
Let's just say... I'm male, and in my sexual fantasies, I typically imagine myself as a lesbian.
This troper has made out with other girls at anime expo to get guys to buy her stuff. Oh yeah.
Wait, you mean that's not a common thing?
I dunno. I do it, now.
Well I usually don't, but I might just try it once now that you mention it.
Well, my mother was really disturbed when I told her this—but then, she thinks homosexuality is a mental illness.
This Troper has a werid occasional habit of wishing that he was a girl with an androgenous appearance. Not really related, until you get to the part where he also imagines that said version of himself is a lesbian. Yeaaaaaaaaaah.
This troper does it too, but unlike the one above no one outside of TV Tropes will know.
That's not that weird. This lesbian troper is a Yaoi Fangirl and sometimes fantasizes about being a guy sleeping with another guy. Try to figure THAT one out.
This troper frequently does this as well. I always imagined it was a pretty common thing.
This troper is a straight female but also fantasizes about the same thing...I don't know about common, but it doesn't seem to be as rare as the original poster thought it was.
On a slightly related note, while I don't always do that (though I do sometimes), I'm far more likely to be found playing a female character in Online R Ps. Of the message-board variety. In first person. With occasional messaging "relationships" with other characters. Not all of the other characters are male.
Also guilty of the above.
I never really thought about that kind of thing... until I noticed the number of Transformation Comics in my bookmarks list. It isn't my usual thing, but I definitely wouldn't mind being female for a while. On a genuinely unrelated note, my first (and currently only ever) girlfriend was bi...
This troper thinks so, but if you look on the main Troper Tales page and go to Bi The Way, you can see that he posted there.
Holy COW, is Girl on Girl hot. ESPECIALLY if it involves Dominance/submission. Foot fetishism is escalated with two hot girls...
STOP BEING ME!
I am an odd variant of this. Almost every time I develop a crush on a girl, I later find out that she's a lesbian. A sad reminder of the downside to lesbians: they're hot, but not for you.
You're not trying hard enough. This troper has twice convinced lesbians to "try men, just to make 100% sure you're making the right choice". In one case, it wasn't so much "convincing" as being home when the girl had that thought on her own. Kramer's not the only one with the magic touch.
This has actually caused an acquaintance of this troper to become very homophobic, and is especially hateful towards lesbians, and it only happened to him once! Of course, he's still pretty hateful towards any other girl who won't go out with him (single, taken, gay, dead, the reason doesn't matter).
This troper has had a far more minor but weirder frustration. He is a definite Yuri Fan (though he got over the Het Is Ew phase early), and most of his female friends are bi. And he has found it a tremendous source of disappointment when many of them have refused to run with it.
I have the ultimate story regarding this topic. One of my friends has had two separate relationships that ended (amicably) when the women found that they were lesbians. These two women found each other, totally on their own with no involvement from said friend. They fell in love and got married. (Back when you could in either Canada or New Hampshire.) He was the best man. They decided they wanted a child, so they turned to him for a sperm donation. He has picture of the kid, she's cute. Here's the kicker, at no time, NO TIME, in ANY of his interaction with these ladies did he partake in intercourse. I honestly fell down laughing when I heard this story the first time.
This troper is female, bisexual, and enjoyed teasing her boyfriend about this before we broke up. He actually said he wouldn't mind if I cheated if I did it with a hot girl.
This troper is that troper's ex-boyfriend. I did say this, but requested that there be pictures or video of the encounter.
I'd prefer a highly detailed written description.
Why not both?
Better post it here, too... to be sure he gets it...
Uh, i think the ex-boyfriend up there is my ex-boyfriend. I love life, and also the privileges of female bisexuality.
This troper more so than your average guy. Once I came across two girls in school making out, neither of them were particularly attractive, but I still ended up staring while blushing furiously.
This troper also more than the average guy. Girl-girl kissing is my particular fetish; I'd rather watch two average-looking girls make out than porn of any type. Even lesbian porn, if it doesn't have enough kissing...
Ditto here. Once, Youtube provided (almost randomly) a video of 2 girls making out. It was smoking hot. Srsly.
Thirded. Kind of felt sleazy at one point because a (fairly attractive) lesbian couple went to class close to where my Japanese was, albeit an hour or so earlier, but I'd get there in time to see them kiss as they separated to different rooms. If either of them were of the butch variety, I probably wouldn't have given them a second thought, though. Sorry ladies, if you're attractive and kissing another attractive lady, then it's hot and I'll take a peek. I never take pictures or video, however.
This troper is irritated to hell and back by this trope. Yes, I kiss girls. But I do it because I like it, NOT for the entertainment of anybody else. Besides most of us gay and bi girls are not nearly as hot as the chicks on the The L Word in real life (unfortunately) so the guys who crash our lesbian parties to watch us make out with each other probably leave disappointed, anyway.
You're not the only one who hates this trope. I have no problem with exhibition, but many guys have a tendency to treat it like they have every right to basically make me and the girl I'm making out with uncomfortable as hell, all in the name of entertainment. Doesn't help that I know they're probably going to fantasize about it later... BLAAAAAARGH
It also spoils all lesbian porn for this troper as I have the constant reminder at the back of my mind that it's all faked for the amusement of guys. And I don't want it to be for guys. I want it to be for girls. Otherwise, what's the point?
I for one, think that Yuri is sexy, and that it's my favourite fetish. Yeah...
When this troper came out as bisexual for the first time, it happened to be to a guy friend of hers. His first words? "Wow. That's really kinda hot."
Your cousin fails logic forever. **Wouldn't gay dudes be more likely to want a threesome with him? Just sayin'.
"No, I think the word you're looking for is desperate, not lesbian."
This troper once had a conversation reminiscent of this one. The other party involved was confusing lesbians with bisexuals and when he was told they would have no interest in him let out the following (which immediately resulted in Head Desk): "With lesbians, it's all about the penis."
Similar story came from This Troper's former female colleague. Upon the discussion of homosexuality, she said she was fine with gay men, but didn't like lesbians. When asked why she replied "Cos a lesbian will want to have sex with me, and that's just gross".
I used to find lesbian sex a bit uninteresting. My sexual tastes seemed to have changed however as lesbian porn has started to make up the bulk of my collection.
Everyone thinks this bisexual troper is lesbian, due to the massive amount of Les Yay I generate. Guys seem to like being around me for that reason exactly.
This straight female troper doesn't mind doing things with women at all, her boyfriend has even stated that if she were to cheat on him with a woman to just get pictures and it will be fine.
Heaven help girls who assume that this applies to all guys though. An oft-unconsidered side effect of accepting sexual preferences other than "straight" is that it automatically means cheating is cheating, not some sort of kinky turn-on, regardless of the gender it's with.
This male troper has to correct you there. It doesn't "automatically" mean anything of the sort. "Cheating" is truly cheating only if, y'know, the couple in question has actually agreed that their relationship should always be a monogamous one. Unfortunately, too many people (of all gender/orientation combinations) seem to assume that monogamy is required for any happy, stable relationship. Rest assured, such assumptions are quite ill-founded, especially for this troper.
When people find out that this troper's all time best friend is a lesbian, they immediately (and unfailingly!) ask "Have you guys ever hooked up/had sex/kissed?". To which the answer is no. The disappointed person usually comments "Well, it would be hot if you guys did".
Practically my entire porn stash is comprised of lesbian porn (with a few notable exceptions).
This troper and my girlfriend are a total aversion of this. In my own opinion, we're both quite attractive — albeit unconventionally — but every time we'd kiss, most guys nearby were disgusted. Just goes to show that this trope rarely exists with real women.
Who likes real women? Ewww!
You should, er, put up photos. No? Dang.
Subverted by this troper and his friends during their tenure in high school. There was one genuine lesbian couple that we were aware of, and they were rather fond of hanging out in stairwells and making out between classes. In addition to the annoyance factor (seriously, the school is overcrowded enough, must you take up space sucking face?), it was just genuinely not attractive to walk around a corner and suddenly be less than a foot from these two. The whole thing culminated (for my friends and I, at least), on the first day of senior year, where my best friend and I were walking around the building before class, fell into conversation about these two girls, and then realized that they had been walking in front of us for over a minute. We then started referencing this fact in very loud voices (saying things like, "WOW, IS THIS AWKWARD" and "BETTER USE MORE GENERAL TERMS NOW"). There was decidedly less making out encountered after that.
I have a friend who's a lesbian, and another (male) friend who is kind of... well, let's just say that the lesbian and her girlfriend made out in front of him (after they asked him if he wanted to watch, no less) and two months later he still brings it up constantly.
This Troper is a girl and thinks it's kind of cute... is this weird? She feels like she may be bi-curious too :/
As the title implies, no, it's not weird. Girls Liking Girl On Girl Is Also Hot.
And this troper considers herself straight (or maybe bi-curious), because she only ever crushes on (or even falls in love with) with guys, but when masturbating (too much information?) can only get off on fantasies of other girls.
The answer: Not even close to too much information - girl on girl is, in fact, hot.
I have a couple reasons for feeling this way; first, I'm just not into guys. Second, I personally find a woman who's enjoying herself to be crazy sexy. And with regards to porn, I've noticed that in het porn, the director spends roughly 90% of the time focused on the guy's ass (see point #1), not to mention that guys seem to have more annoying "sexy" talk. Huge turn off.
Radioactive Zombie - Agreed. Even using Maddox's tips on blocking the cock out, it's just not fucking sexy at all, especially with the sudden closeups on dick and the guy's face, which I DON'T want to see if I'm enjoying orgasming women.
Averted by this troper who has many lesbian friends who are all really ugly.
I used to think that I was asexual, since I found the idea of having sex distasteful. I then realised that I am actually a male lesbian. The reason I can't stand the thought of having sex, is because it would automatically have to involve a man and, even if that was me, it was a complete turn-off.
...there's enough ammunition there for a million therapists to send all their kids to college. Seriously, there are self-hate issues galore packed into that statement.
Similar with this Troper. The major difference is that it's sex involving any man other than this Troper is a turn-off. So girl-on-girl is pretty much the only option.
Subverted by This Troper. She had a male friend who was talking about how hot Israeli women are, and she agreed with him. He didn't have any particular "that's so hot" reaction to my Bi The Way.
The whole reason this troper prefers not to come out as bi. She can deal with hatred-slinging homophobes, but would rather not deal with droolers.
This female troper used to rewind and rewatch any scene with female physical contact (handholding and hugs) over and over from about age nine, and felt seriously aroused for the first time when she saw two women kissing on some TV show or another. This trope was what helped her realise that she is in fact gay.
You're not the only one. It was my secret for years, then I finally realised.
To this troper, lesbian porn is like furry porn. He's not bothered by it, and some of it actually looks pretty nice, but it's just not something that could get him up.
I have two friends who happen to be girls, and who stole my (massive) jacket to make out in. Needless to say, it was more awkward when they forgot to let me take off the jacket first.
This trope is exactly why I've Never is such a fantastic game to play. It's a little depressing to know that a female friend has got so much further with another girl than you have, but that's outweighed by how awesome the mental images are. Creepy? Why yes, yes it is, just a little. Like I care.
This female troper loves the boobies, but not so much into lesbian porn. It's boring.
This male troper is an aversion: I don't see the point (then again, I'm to one step to asexuality), and my brother deconstructs this trope: he suffered A LOT for her ex-girlfriend because she turned out to be bisexual, and he just couldn't stand the idea that she may be potentially attracted to any person besides him (I know bisexuality does not work in that way and fidelity has nothing to do with sexual orientation, but he is a more traditional-romantic-eternal-love-kind of guy, so all the idea of a bisexual girlfriend was almost, well...disgusting for him.
As per what you just said, traditional romantic eternal love is very possible with a bisexual, unless "traditional" means "between two 100% straight people." (Oh, and while acceptance of it is new around these parts, non-straight people have in fact been around for a minute or two.) And a straight girlfriend can be attracted to others - about half the world population is in fact male. Even people who can say the words don't always understand for real: being bisexual doesn't mean you have to have men and women, just that you can be attracted to either. If your significant other is faithful to you, it doesn't matter at all. If he or she is not trustworthy, than being attracted to your gender exclusively would only narrow the number of people s/he could potentially cheat with from six billion to three billion. (Or is it eight billion to four billion? I forget. But you get the picture. ...I pray everyone reading this gets the picture.)
While not an example of this trope, it is about the trope itself. This troper put a link to the main article on a forum. He got banned because people thought it was porn and reported.
This Troper and a bunch of his friends were at a party, playing "I've Never" and when it came to "I've never had sex" among the people who drank were my lesbian friend. One of my other friends, unable to contain himself, spat out "AWESOME." Everyone laughed, but the girls seemed to miss all the guys nodding in agreement. *This Troper has seen this happen. Twice. Once backstage before a school performance, one of the girls said she had never been kissed by a girl. Another girl kissed her, and you'd believe he was shocked. And turned on. Second time was at college, when he was out on a rainy Sunday and turned the corner, finding two girls (Who he knew were lesbian and dating) making out. This was a bit more embarrassing scenario, and you'd better believe he was embarrassed. He apologized and moved on.
To this bisexual troper, this trope is a blessing. Recently at a party one of my friends "out" me in front of everyone and after that several guys ASK me to kiss their girlfriends ! I should precise that we were all kind of drunk, one guy asked me, then the other thought it was a fucking great idea. And me too. It's not the first time that kind of things happen to me but the fact that those guys ask me was totally awesome. So thank you straight males attracted by girl on girl.
Like Groucho Marx says: "if it's not me doing it, I don't see the point"
Back in high school, I was taking part in a theater improv competition between the school classes. The assignment was to have two actors be movie critics describe a movie that would then be acted out by the other two. My partners were an extremely flamboyantly gay guy and two "diva" actresses, one of whom came up with the "brilliant" idea of the movie being about the love between two girls, one of whom dressed up as a guy for their first date and their love "succeeding despite all odds". I basically acted the cynical Accentuate The Negative critic; while my partner gushed over how sweet the movie was, I said the only reason anyone would want to watch the movie was because, well...it was girl on girl. My partner reacted in confusion, and I said "...They're lesbians, we're guys. Do I really have to explain this to you?" The judges cracked up, and our (in my opinion) rather average improv act ended up as a close second. (Funnily enough, the first place act included two guys making out, inverting the trope!)
This troper (now referring to myself in the first body) has a female bisexual friend, and until recently had a major crush on another female friend. When the bi friend found out about it, she tried to make me feel better by grabbing a bi friend of hers and kissing her for about a minute. It didn't work, although her boyfriend was pleased by the turn of events.
This Yuri Fanboy has a lesbian classmate in one of his classes. I would even see her kiss her girlfriend in the hallway every once in a while. You'd think I really like the situation I'm in, right? Not really since said lesbian is a Butch Lesbian, so butch that it'll take you a while to figure out that she's a girl, that I could hardly care less.
This troper was at a bar with some friends, celebrating my girlfriend's birthday. I was sitting by a table, arms around my other half and a friend of hers. All of a sudden, they both lean over and kiss right in front of my face. Sandwiched between two beautiful women as I was, I heard hooting and laughter from the other side of the table. And after they were done, both of them felt my crotch and smiled a devious little smile.
This troper was in P.E. during the swimming unit. One girl was getting out of the pool, but ended up floundering half-out and half-in. To help, her (female) friend swam up to her and essentially groped her bum and shoved forward. This troper immediately left the vicinity, in order to not be caught staring.
This troper is Asexual and finds Girl On Girl Is Hot. Well, obviously not "hot" but still very attractive and cute (unless it's porn, then it's just arousing when it's not animated). Did I mention I'm a girl? There are times like this when she wishes she wasn't aromantic or at least very anti-friendship, so she could have a wonderful relationship with her BFF or girlfriend... *sigh*
This troper has a bisexual friend, who happens to be smokin' hot. Although we're just friends, it's always fun to hear her say, "That girl's ass looks really good in those pants."
This troper is a lesbian, and while she hates to take advantage of it, she also hates waiting in line at the pub and can always find one other girl in her party, sexuality unimportant, who will take it on the lips to get us all past the bouncer.
For this troper, the best kind of girl on girl is Black girl on White girl. It's a real turn on for this editor. Also, Black girl on Latina.
Trope averted for this troper. He is not particularly aroused or interested in seeing girl on girl action and pretty much facepalms every time he sees other men going all gaga over it.
This straight male troper occasionally has some Wangst over how this mindset reflects upon his maturity, especially how when he creates character ideas, a lot of them tend to revolve around lesbians or bisexuals. It has recently been called to his attention thought that while he has had friendships with lesbians in the past and has stayed mature about the lady-love (these ladies are still people, not lust objects), as well as having a mature view on male homosexuality too (he wouldn't do it himself, but some of his friends are gay males and there is nothing wrong with that). So maybe this troper isn't as immature as he sometimes worries that he is.
This troper and his friends at school have a Running Gag where we jump up and ask for more details whenever one of us mentions lesbians. And yes, it's as off-putting to other people as you'd expect.
This one is very attracted to girls but isn't that attracted to the idea of lesbian sex. I prefer hetero over girl on girl and guy on guy over both.
This troper, who is dogged heterosexual, agrees. Even though yuri is kinda hot, he fails to find just what is so attractive about it, but at the same time, dislikes boy on boy even more. just as much. Heterosexual sex is a much more pleasant viewing experience. Though he comes of as asexual, thatisfar from the truth. *This female, bisexual troper plays this trope straight (AHAHAHA), and LOVES bit of girl on girl action; indeed, she has gone so far as to make out with other girls more than once in her life. However, in all honesty, she is turned on by a lot of things.
This troper is more of a Yaoi Fangirl, but one day she found two of her (incredibly gorgeous) friends making out. Cue the incontrollable blushing every time they'd walk into a room toghether. Doesn't help that once she came out as possibly Bi-Curious, they both looked at her and asked, "Do you want to find out~?"
This trope is subverted or played straight with This bisexual male Troper depending on his mood. Moreso since moving in with his lesbian sister and her girlfriend has created quite a bit of Fetish Fuel. It also doesn't help that this Troper is a sick fuck
This Trope is pretty assuredly a straight dude, as my ex-girlfriends can attest, but lesbian porn just doesn't really do anything for me. To put it bluntly, it's not just a woman I want to see, it's her being penetrated, it's a necessary part of the experience. Without that, it's like a hunt without the kill, a sandwich without the bread, Blackadder without Baldrick.
Applies to this female troper. What can I say I'm bisexual. Girls are hot. I love all of that kind of stuff. Always have!
In sophomore year in high school, this (now no longer confused) lesbian troper once made out with her then-boyfriend's future girlfriend the day she introduced the two of them. Talk about OT 3.
This trooper, normally thinks girl on girl is pretty. However there was one case where it made him angry and sick. We're talking Mega Brain Bleach. Bella from Twilight getting it on with her mutant, vampire werewolf daughter. Remember the girl is supposed to be 2 or something.
This troper's classmates were having an interesting conversation on this:
Straight Male Classmate: I don't know about gay guys, but girl on girl is hot.
Male Classmate: You don't think so? I mean, if you saw two girls making out, wouldn't you be like,"Whoa! NICE!!"? It doesn't even matter if they're ugly. As long as they're girls, it's HOT. Wouldn't you watch them??
Shy Male Classmate Who Rarely Talks: [blushing]...yeah...
This male troper is a subversion. Sure, it's cool in porn sometimes, but in real life it's never really turned me on for two main reasons. The first is that most-no, ALL of my female friends are very flirty bisexual girls, and thus my main competition. The second is that the only time I've been cheated on, it was done with a girl. Cheating isn't really all that hot.
This troper is a lot like that too, but she justifies it by saying that guys spend their whole lives thinking of women as nothing but objects, ain't nothing wrong with objectifying them a bit back!
While I love both slash and femme!slash, this argument really makes me uncomfortable. Isn't equality supposed to match one gender to the other, not bringing one down to their discriminated-against level? And just in case that makes no sense, I'll be leaving immediately now.
It's fair play. You objectify somebody. You deserve to be objectified back. Think of it as karma. I mean I know the mature way would be to not go down to their level, but some perve's really deserve to be made uncomfortable for their actions. It is equality. Even if it's not positive equality cuz sadly we can not stop perverts from being perverts without crying in front of them or becoming more then a object to them.
You do realize that you're pretty much speaking bullshytt. You take offense to the idea of a man being turned on by the opposite sex, but see no harm in a woman doing so. 'Objectifying' the opposite sex (in the sense you're putting it) is human nature at its base, and it isn't gender-specific. To sum it up, "If they do it, it's sexist, but it's fine when I do it" as an argument doesn't work.
Uh, you all do realize that this was mostly facetious, right? God, get off your damn soapboxes.
The way I see it, people of either gender are human. Most humans think about sex. Probably a lot. Fantasies are fine as long as you take them for what they are and don't try to force them on living, breathing human beings who might not want to play.
This troper is exactly the same! I had a crush on a female best friend once, but it was never as intense as crushes I've had on boys. Although I don't really fantasize about guys at all.
This male Troper's bisexual girl friend (who had made "relations" with her in the past) is annoyed when men get amazed when they find out that she prefers women over men. She thinks that men get aroused just because of the thought of women making out, but she tells men to think of gay porn instead and see if they get aroused after that.
I've always felt that Girl On Girl Is Hot, and girls liking girl on girl is even hotter. However, I also know that bi/lesbian women are real people too, and would never hound them, and certainly never pretend to be a friend to one in hopes of seeing her kiss another girl. It’s called “not being a Jerk Ass.” (And remember, if you just have to see some HLA, God gave us The L Word for a reason!)
This troppette is bisexual and likes girls making out and likes making out with girls.I also like making lesbianic relationships in my Sim (2/3) families. Yeah I am totally not supressed LMAO...In my defense I liked boys first!
Dude, I don't know if this was what you meant, but you make it sound like being a lesbian is "sinful", and completely incompatible with Christian beliefs.
Well, if you can show that it is in fact compatible with Christian beliefs...and at the risk of overstepping the Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgment, if the Bible condemns gay male sex, why won't the same be applied to lesbianism?
It doesn't, actually. Leviticus 20:13 merely bans anal intercourse. Easy enough to see why, if you think about it:
The bacteria that live in it
The "catcher's" internal structural integrity being that of wet tissue paper
In a polygamous society
With legalized, unregulated prostitution
In the days before:
In short, a disease outbreak waiting to happen.
When this trope came up in conversation, this (male) troper jokingly described it as being similar to friendly fire: red-on-red is more fun to watch than blue-on-blue...
Despite being both male and straight, I've been a very hard aversion my entire life; not only do I just do not find girl on girl hot at all and, due to my extremely sheltered upbringing, I am completely incapable of understanding how others find it hot. Can anyone explain this one to me in as simple terms as possible or is it the same principle as a gay guy trying to explain to his straight friend why he's attracted to the same sex? That is, is it just something that can't be explained, just experienced depending on the individual? Also, I'm very insulted that some people try to say that all men automatically fits into this trope; I hate stereotyping like that.
Finally, some solidarity. I have never understood this, and unlike the above, I didn't have a sheltered upbringing. In fact, a lot of my female friends would regular kiss and touch each other in front of the rest of the group for the sake of getting to the male part of the group by their own admittance, and I would sit there doing something else while resisting as hard as I could to yell, "God damn it, shut up! No one cares." To that end, it only irritates me when used in the assumption that, like the above said, as a guy, I'll fall into a stereotype. Beyond that, if two girls are kissing, I don't have a reaction. If someone asks, I'll probably say, "Yeah. So?" or "Good for them." Threesomes are a different story though. While girl on girl is whatever as long as you're not shoving it in my face, these just seem needlessly complicated and far more trouble than they're worth.
My own reason for finding lesbians attractive would probably be down to the simple fact that there's two of them. Women's bodies are simply much more arousing and pleasing to look at. On top of that intimate acts are in themselves quite hot so the combination works well. It gets better with the scenarios portrayed in pornography but I won't get into that.
I used to be a believer of this, especially in my early teen years, I even fell for the Sweeps Week Lesbian Kiss. But as I have gotten older, and actually all but lost my own sexual drive, I just can't look at girl on girl the same anymore, and can't even watch a show that uses it for some cheap ratings stunt anymore. I have actually become a Yuri Fan, because I find girl on girl relationships to be REALLY freaking adorable(at least in fiction).
My personal opionion on this topic: common sense says that the harder something is to get/see/experience, the more overall satisfiying it is to get/see/experience said thing. Thats why the only time girl on girl is hot to me is when both girls are straight.the few times i have seen it were way more satisfying then lesbians making out ever was.
I personally don't really understand why some guys enjoy seeing Girl on girl, since to me, that means you won't ever get the chance to get with them, if you so intend to. I understand it is a preference of theres, but still.... seems kind of like backwards logic to me.
While this troper understands the position that two (or more!) girls may not want to be ogled, anything taking place in public is fair game. Especially if what is taking place involves gorgeous, dripping wet, bikini clad, sixteen-year-olds having furious makeouts in a hotel hallway during a science fiction convention... If they weren't cool with it, they wouldn't have asked one of the other bystanders for copies of the pictures. I'll be in my bunk.
Do you know what a sorority girl is?
Aren't there any female yuri fans XD. Seriously, while I do enjoy yaoi, I like yuri so much more! It seems like most yaoi manga and anime focus on the "KAWAII GAY SMEX DESU!!" and completely ignore things like "character development" and "plot". Yuri on the other hand usually does focus more on the actual relationship between the romantic couples, not just the sex. Besides, it's just so cute ;). Maybe I don't really count as a proper "yuri fan" considering that I am a bisexual female, but that won't stop me from squeeing over it if I see it. Most of my female friends are lesbian/bisexual (and yet never hit on me for some reason? Probably because I'm a lot younger than most of them XD) and have "demonstrated" several times for me. Of course, I run out of the room screaming everytime they do so (too much stimulation for my poor brain!). I know that most lesbian relationships aren't like yuri, but I believe it is perfectly acceptable to enjoy yuri as long as you don't assume all lesbians are like that! Also, I believe that, if you like yuri, you shouldn't judge yaoi either (It's okay if you don't like it, but it's pretty hypocritical to think that it's "disgusting').
This troper finds that seeing it isn't nearly as hot as my imagination. Two random sorority girls making out in a bar for attention=meh. But, in my mind, I can picture any two women, let's say, to pull two names out of a hat, Helena Bonham Carter and Amanda Seyfried, passionately making out, slowly removing each other's clothes, kissing every inch of one another's skin as it's revealed, one kissing down the other's stomach, working her way down until---I'd better stop before this gets pornographic. My point is imagination beats reality every time.
This troper has found that he just enjoys positive interaction between two women. This trope has alway had a a perosnal connection with female interaction but never really htough he would find two women together to spark his interest in Girl on Girl is Hot. In middle school, in particular, at school sponsored clubs/dances, this troper was disorintated by the amount of girls grinding on each other, giving each other lap dances, and partner dancing with other girls. I thought it was messed up until College when i saw two graceful girls swing dance together (for the record, they were both curvy and had distinguishing "assets") and i began to notice how beautiful an art form it is to see women be partnered with each other. After this mommoent i began to become interested in female/female rrelationships and began to take notice of Lesbian couples and their adorableness as well as the intamacy between female friendships. I began to squee when i saw lesbians makeout/have sex in movies or tv, become indulged in the lighter side of femslash, and began supporting yuri couples. This troper also enjoys other fetishes such as feet and bound and gagged (the innocent stuff like being tied up by a friend for laughs or a villian for a cheesy damsle indistress). I often find girls tickling, massaging or pedicuring each others feet to be a real treat to observe and fantasize about. Bound and gagged for me ususally results in imaignging girls tying each other up for laughs or women resucing damsle in distress and having the damsel fall in love with her female resucer and kissing each other.
